The day will start at 10:00, where we welcome you at Utsikten Selskapslokale. Here we will have a Hindu Wedding Ceremony, conducted by a priest from the temple. The ceremony consists of several different rituals that symbolize the union of our two families.After the ceremony, we will serve various vegetarian dishes, as is tradition at Hindu weddings. We expect to finish around 14.30 where we will close the venue so we can prepare it for the evening.At 18:00, we welcome you back for the reception. There will be speeches, dinner, dancing, and celebration. Several of our friends have asked what they should wear to a Hindu wedding. For our wedding, the answer is that you may wear whatever you like! (although we kindly ask you to avoid red 😊).At traditional Hindu weddings, women often wear sarees and men typically wear a veshti salvai, so you will see a lot of our guests in these during the ceremony.For the evening reception the dresscode will be: suit & dress (long dresses).If you would like to try the Tamil tradition and wear a saree or veshti salvai, we recommend that women take a look at cbazaar.com (feel free to contact Tharanja if you decide to buy something there), and men are welcome to contact Alexander.
